Ray is served by the most up-to-date communications company, Northwest Communications Cooperative providing fiber optic telephone cable, cellular, fax and modem transmission, cable TV, rural wireless cable TV, as well as providing a full internet connection to the area.

The Ray School System is one of the highest ranking in academic accreditation for excellence.

Emergency

The Ray community is serviced by Ray Fire Protection District with 25 volunteers and Ray Community Ambulance District with 16 registered Emergency Medical Technicians and 4 volunteer drivers with CPR training.  The nearest hospital is only 15 miles away, with 2 doctors on staff.

Recreation

Ray has a highly rated 9 hole golf course and newly designed tennis courts. For the hunter, upland game such as ring-necked pheasant and white-tailed deer are abundant. If you are a fisherman the Missouri River can easily be accessed for walleye and northern pike.

Industrially Zoned Land

Located in Ray are 58.5 acres of available property zoned for industrial use. Sewage and water use is currently running at approximately 50% of capacity.

The Ray Mall, a community project built in 1976, houses 17 business locations, among them retail, medical, and professional.

Location

Ray is located on US Highway 2, about 45 miles south of Canada and 41 miles east of Montana. Highway 2 is used by 4 major freight carriers. Ray also offers daily piggyback services on Burlington Northern Railroad.


Grain Palace Festival The annual Grain Palace Festival is celebrated the first weekend of every August. The original Grain Palace was built in 1912 as a place for area farmers to showcase the area's bountiful grains, and the productiveness of the rich soil. The city itself has been a hub of agriculture in the vicinity since the early 1900's.
